Andreas Haensel was born in 1973 in Erlangen. In 1992, he began his training as a violin maker in the master workshop of Karl Höfner in Bubenreuth, while also studying at the State School of Violin Making in Mittenwald.
After completing his training in 1995, he began working as a violin maker in the workshops of Karl Höfner and Roderich Paesold, where he was responsible for developing new models, crafting high-quality individual instruments, and varnishing.
In 2004, Andreas Haensel passed his master craftsman’s examination in Nuremberg. Since 2009, he has been working independently in his own atelier in Kleinsendelbach near Erlangen.
At the International Violin Making Competition in Pisogne (Italy) in 2010, Haensel won the bronze medal.
