The violin crafted by Marco Maria Gastaldi is inspired by the Viotti violin by A. Stradivari. It was built in 2014, and due to a defect, the top was replaced in 2022, enhancing its acoustics. The body length is 355 mm. The violin is distinguished by meticulous craftsmanship in every detail. The woods were carefully selected to achieve the best aesthetic and acoustic results. The top is made of two pieces of spruce from Val d'Ega (Province of Bolzano) with a regular, medium-narrow grain. The back, made of Balkan maple, features deep, medium-width flames. The varnish, based on linseed oil, is applied in an antique style. Professional violinists generally describe the sound as very powerful, rich in overtones, and with very direct projection. Additionally, they emphasize how comfortable and easy the violin is to play in all registers.
